The Life of a Member Services Manager


I may be a little strange, but it is kind of fun going through the day not knowing from moment to moment what next challenge will pop up. Many of you may not even know what my duties are at North Itasca Electric Cooperative, so I will list some of them for you: Member Services oversees all the service needs of the membership and also looks after the load management programs.

Member services:

  • rebates
  • heating equipment sales and sizing
  • the appliance sales department
  • WATTS News
  • website changes
  • annual meetings and open houses
  • contractor meetings and updates
  • trouble shooting equipment problems
  • billing questions
  • reports for Great River Energy
  • government reporting
  • assistance in rate structures
  • energy efficiency programs and implementation
  • conservation improvement program tracking
  • Operation Round-Up
  • advertising
  • energy evaluations and more.

Load Control programs:

  • Installing sub meters
  • programing radio receivers
  • auditing radio receivers
  • sizing transformers
  • site visits for installations
  • troubleshooting equipment failures
