Koochiching County Fair August 11-13

Saturday will start at 9 a.m. with the Scramble, registration starts at 8 a.m. 2 miles, 5K and 10K races plus a stroller Scramble. Contact Mike at (218) 897-5065.

Tournaments are held on Saturday and Sunday, including Bean Bag Toss (Kristen at (303) 647-5859), Bocce Ball and Laser Tag. A Northwoods Saddle Club Play Day Show will start at 11 a.m. on Sunday.

Traditional events include the Farm Market competition, displaying red, russet and Yukon Gold potatoes; cucumets; carrots, apples, beets, sweet corn; green bell peppers, onions, and pumpkins (winner by weight). The Garden display and arrangement competition and photography contest with five categories: scenery, people, animals, wildlife, other and “Three Photos that Tell a Story.”

More favorites include the Saturday 1 p.m. parade, an antique tractor demonstration, and fireworks on Saturday at dusk. On Sunday at noon, fairgoers are invited to play along at a Country Music Jam Session.
