Energy Star® Home Rebate awarded

continued

The Rasmusson home was built slab on grade and heated using North Itasca Electric’s storage heat and storage domestic water heating programs. A bed of sand under the slab is heated each night for 8 hours (11 p.m. to 7 a.m.), storing heat until charged again the following night. The domestic water is also heated during the same time frame except on weekends and holidays where energy is provided until 3 p.m. the following day.

The cost for energy on the storage programs is 4.3 cents per kWh which equates to purchasing propane at $1.15 per gallon.

Congratulations, Mark and Renae, on your new Energy Star home.
