Our three room cabin with a hand pump, an outhouse and a barrel stove has evolved to five bedrooms, a deep well with electric pump and water heater, forced air heating system, air conditioning, satellite TV, a home computer and several gadgets and appliances that we just take for granted.

In short, my power bill may be higher but so is my usage and my reliance on this luxury is the reason for my increase in my power costs, and I’m not ready to go back to “the good old days.”

Thank goodness for North Itasca Electric and the REA program that makes it all possible.
