North Itasca Electric members may still purchase appliances for cash, 90 days same as cash or a contract loan. On a contract loan you may finance your purchase up to 60 months with a minimum monthly payment of $10.00. For qualified buyers we have reduced the amount of down payment required. North Itasca Electric Co-op., Inc. encourages its members to purchase Energy Star appliances. Energy Star appliances reduce operating cost to you and help to conserve energy. If everyone conserves a little bit of energy it will add up to lots of conservation as a whole.

All qualifying Energy Star appliances purchased and put into service on North Itasca Electric’s power lines, no matter where purchased, will qualify for a rebate. Rebates are $50.00 for a refrigerators or freezers, $25.00 for washers, $25.00 for dishwashers and $25.00 for dehumidifiers. You can check to make sure they qualify at www.energystar.gov or call N.I.E.C.I. at (218) 743-3131.

Beginning 4/01/2007 if you purchase the Energy star qualified appliance from North Itasca Electric, and it is being put into service on North Itasca Electric’s power lines, North Itasca Electric co-op will match the above rebates!

In addition to Energy Star appliances North Itasca Electric Co-op., Inc. is extending its CFL Lighting Program into 2008. This program allows members to bring in a dollar to be donated to area food shelves, and in exchange for the donation the member will receive a CFL (Compact Fluorescent Light bulb). The program was a great success in 2007 with more than $1,700 being donated to area Food Shelves.
