Over the CEO’s Desk: Rate Adjustment • Capital Credits
by Jeff Ortman, CEO
At our Annual Meeting in June of 2005 I began talking about a substantial rate adjustment which would be needed in 2007 or 2008.
At your 2007 Annual Meeting I reported that your board had deferred a rate adjustment in 2007 with the expectation that we could shave some dollars from our operations and continue to hold the line on power costs. We also budgeted normal increases for the materials and supplies we need to keep the operation going.
As you already know, three major storms swept through our system over the summer which eliminated any hope of cutting our costs and the price of materials and supplies have increased substantially – in some instances doubling in cost. Our current projection is that we will end the year with only a very slight margin of $30,000 to $40,000 which is not enough to assure our bankers we can meet our mortgage commitments.

Now Enrolling: Eagleview Youth Development Program
The Eagleview Youth Development Program is accepting applications for students in kindergarten through 6th grade. This free after school recreation and tutoring program is open to all students whether they need extra help with school work or just want some play time with friends after school.
The YDP will be open Monday through Friday from 3-6 p.m. starting on December 3. Northome and North School students may ride the afternoon bus to Eagleview School in Squaw Lake. Transportation home is available for students living within the official attendance boundaries of Eagleview, and beyond through special arrangements.
Interim YDP Coordinator Toni Wilcox is working closely with all area school districts to insure students work on the skills that will help them succeed in the classroom. A nutritious snack and some free play-time are included in the YDP schedule every day. With parental permission, students will also have a supervised opportunity to use the Internet at the Community Technology Center located at Eagleview School.
For more information, or an enrollment packet contact Toni at 659-4271 or eagleviewydp@yahoo.com.
