The Bigfork Valley Challenge was also run by 11 U.S. Air Force servicemen and women deployed in Qatar in the Persian Gulf.

Men’s and women’s overall race winners received an iPod Shuffle. Door prizes from area restaurants, including Arcadia Lodge, Huskie Cafe, Timber Wolf Inn, Effie Cafe, Riley’s Fine Food, Frontier Sports and Blueberry Bowl were awarded randomly to participants.

Over 150 people walked or ran in the 2007 Bigfork Valley Challenge, held on the second Saturday in September. The race is sponsored by Bigfork Valley as a community health initiative in cooperation with the U.S. Forest Service.

Contributions to the success of the race also came from: Kocian’s Family Market, Range Water, Pepsi, Bigfork Ambulance, Cub Foods, Caribou Coffee and Steve Boggs.

Photographs of the race will be on display in the lobby of Bigfork Valley through the first part of October.
