Roxanne’s Sales Talk

... continued

  1. Remember to adjust the water level to the amount of clothes you put into the machine so you don’t have just a few clothes and a full washer of water. Lower settings use less water.

  2. Think about doing two small loads of like colors together to save time and energy.

  3. If you have a front load washer you are saving about 50 percent on energy, soap and water. Plus, it is a lot easier on your clothes!

  4. Don’t overload the dryer. If you do, it will take longer to dry the cloths, wasting energy, and your clothes will come out wrinkled so you will have to iron them. That also uses more electricity!

  5. Clothes dryers use heated air and tumbling action to dry your clothes. If you don’t keep the lint filter clean the dryer uses more energy when has to work harder because the airflow is blocked.

  6. Dry one load right after the next to take advantage of the heat already in the dryer.

  7. Make sure everything is spun out well before they go in the dryer. It takes a lot longer to dry if clothes are soaking wet when they go into the dryer.
