2 14th annual Rubber Ducky Race, 4 p.m. at the Popple River Bridge in Squaw Lake. Tickets $5 at Squaw Lake businesses.
4 First day of school, all schools.
4 Deer River School Board meets, 5 p.m.
7 Opening reception for the photographs of Denise Dupras, Up North with One Woman’s Nature. 5-7 p.m. Show runs from Sept. 6-Oct. 29. Always free and open to the public. Gallery hours: Thurs. and Sat., 1-4 p.m., Fri. 1-7 p.m.
7-9 The Belle of Amherst starring TV actress Linda Kelsey at the Edge Center in Bigfork, 7 p.m. on Sept 7, 8; 3 p.m. Sept 9. Tickets $10, $5 for 12 and under at Two Rivers Cenex or online at www.the-edge-center.org.
8 Bigfork Valley Challenge, a 4.5 mile competitive run, 3 mile walk along the scenic Jingo Lake Forest Road off Highway 38 south of Bigfork. Register at Kocian’s between 7:30-8:30, race begins at 9 a.m. Shuttle service provided.
8 Opening reception at Blackduck’s TIN PAN gALLErY for Blackduck native Stephen Parker, 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. Show continues to Sept. 29. Hours: Sat. 10 a.m.-3 p.m.; Tues.10 a.m.-1 p.m.; Thurs., Fri. 1 p.m.-4 p.m.
8 Tot Time at Eagleview School gym for children up to age 5 and parents. 2nd and 4th Sat. 1-3 p.m.
10 Women of the Woods meet at 10 a.m. at the Sand Lake Community Center. All women in the area welcome! Call Connie Vesey at 659-4669 for information.
10 Squaw Lake City Council meets 7 p.m. in the Community Center.

10 Blackduck School Board meets 6:30 p.m. in library
11 North Country Gardeners meet to “play in the mud” making stepping stones at a member’s home, 5:30 p.m. Bring a container deep enough to hold 2-3 inches of cement and anything you want to use to decorate your stone. 11 Eagleview Technology Center and Community Library opens on Tuesdays, 3-7 p.m. Also Thurs., Fri 4-7 p.m.; Sat. noon - 4 p.m.

15-16 Bargains are Great on Highway 38; 47 miles of garage sales.
