Eagleview update
Even though the ISD 318 school board declined to sponsor the Eagleview Community Charter School in January, plans to open a charter with another sponsor have continued with the board’s support.
Minnesota law requires every publicly funded charter school to have a nonprofit, school district, or university as a sponsor or supervising agency. The Eagleview Community Foundation submitted a proposal to Walden University in March and has been invited to a technical assistance workshop on April 10th. “Even though Walden has not committed to sponsorship yet,” says Toni Wilcox, ECF President, “the University was instrumental in finding a $10,000 planning grant for us to continue with the charter application process.”

Nominating committee to meet May 8
The Nominating Committee for North Itasca Electric board positions in Districts 7, 8 and 9 will meet May 8 in the cooperative’s offices. Members seeking board positions should contact one of the committee members. Call the office for names and contact numbers at (218) 743-3131.
Candidates must be willing to serve the three year term and be a member resident of the district having director elections.

Powell selected to Youth Tour 07
Jesse Powell of Bigfork will have the opportunity to meet 1500 young men and women from all over the country in Washington, D.C. this June in the 2007 Youth Tour sponsored by rural electric cooperatives.
A junior at Bigfork High School, Powell is in the National Honor Society, is a junior high school football assistant and coaches elementary basketball. In addition to playing basketball and acting as manager for the football team, he participates in theatre and speech.
Powell is the son of Rob and Kim Powell of Bigfork.

Roxanne's Sales Talk

Living in the remote locations like some of us do, and adding to that the costs to get a repair person to come, some people are forced to try to fix things themselves.
Since some of you call me for help in figuring out what is wrong with the appliance and how to get the parts you need to fix it, I have done some research and found several web sites that are helpful. One that I trust and use the most, RepairClinic.com, is a great web site for trouble shooting appliance problems as well as ordering parts.
