2 17th Annual Cut Foot Sioux Candlelight Ski, 4-6 p.m. at the Cut Foot Sioux Visitor Information Center. Come ski a one mile trail lighted by luminaries and finish with hot cider and snacks.
2 Baby Steps comes to Marcell Family Center the first Friday of the month, 9 a.m.
4 Bigfork and Effie Lutheran Youth are making Super Bowl Subs for Super Bowl Sunday. Order forms available at North Itasca Electric offices.
5 Deer River School Board meets in high school library. Note: Open Forum at 5 p.m. for community input. Meeting starts at 5:30 p.m.
5 Minnesota Wild Reading Program starts at North School. Students read 500 minutes by March 2 and earn a Minnesota Wild jersey
7 Eagleview Community Foundation meets at Eagleview School, 6:30 p.m. NOTE: this is a different night
10 Empty Bowls at Bigfork High School, 10 a.m.-noon and 1-3 p.m.. Come make a bowl to donate for the soup luncheon fund raiser for the food shelf
10 “Scrap and Stamp” at the Squaw Lake Community Center, 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. $5 includes access to share box. Call 659-4271 for more information.
10 Ice fishing contest on Ranier Lake, noon - 3 p.m. Call Snowshoe Liquor for more information at 832-3222
10 Northwoods Saddle Club meets 7 p.m., Effie Community Center. Howard Pitzen will speak on the cowboy way of life and will have books for sale. Open to the public. Meetings every second Saturday of the month, membership fee due in Feb.
11 German dinner at Blackduck High School multipurpose room, 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. Hosted by the German Club
12 Women of the Woods meet at the Sand Lake Community Center at 10 a.m. All women in the area welcome! WOW meets the second and fourth Mondays.
12-16 Snoball Week at Deer River High School. Coronation at 2:30 p.m. on Feb. 16, Dance Feb. 16, 9 p.m. - midnight, grades 7-12
13 Northome PTO meets, 4 p.m. in library
13 “Stop & Stitch” quilting group meets at Marcell Family Center from 9:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. Bring your supplies, $1 and a sack lunch. For more info, call Judy at 832-3237 or Rhonda at 832-3597
14 Classic Movie showing at Bigfork Valley Villa commons, 6:30 p.m. See The Awful Truth (1937) with Cary Grant. Free and open to the public.

17 Northwoods Craft Shop annual meeting at Northome Senior Apt. Community Room, 10 a.m.
17 Bingo in Bigfork sponsored by V.F.W. & Auxillary Post 1764, 7 p.m. 60% payout, snacks and refreshments available. Also March 3, 17. Proceeds used for community services. Smoke-free environment.

27 Northwoods Quilters meet at Marcell Town Hall, 9 a.m. Free and open to everyone. Potluck lunch, afternoon session continues to about 3.
