If there is no tag look for energy saving features on the dryer when comparing models. A good energy efficient dryer will have moisture sensors in the drum for sensing dryness. It can save you about 10 percent on electrical use when your dryer has a moisture sensing control. Also look for models that have a cool down period, sometimes called the “perma-press cycle.” In the last few minutes of the cycle cool air rather then heated air is blown through the clothes. This is a great energy saving feature that can save you as much as 15 percent on electrical use.
If you have an old dryer, it is in your best interest to purchase a newer model with as many energy saving features as you can get, because with what you save in energy the dryer will pay for itself in no time. You will notice a difference on your electric bill.
