1 Opening Reception for Kevin Lyons, photographer, at the Edge Center Gallery, 5-7 p.m. “An American Town Revisited, St. Charles, MN: A Photographic Record” Show will run through Sep. 30. Gallery hrs: Thurs. and Sat, 1-4 p.m.; Fri, 1-7 p.m.
2 Backroad rock and blues band comes to the Edge Center, 7 p.m. All seats $10.

5 Deer River School Board meeting, 6 p.m. high school library
9 Bigfork Valley Challenge walk/run. A 4.5 mile run or 3 mile walk over the Color Tour forest road Jingo Lake Road. Registration 7:30-8:30 a.m. in Kocian’s parking lot. Runners/walkers will be shuttled to start and from finish line. For more information, see www.bigforkvalley.org and click “Challenge Run” tab.
9 Tin Cup Troubadours meet at Bear River Church on Hwy 22, 4 miles east of Hwy 65. Storytelling and musical jam with potluck treats, 7 p.m.
11 Women of the Woods meet at the Sand Lake Community Center at 10 a.m. All women in the area welcome! WOW meets the second and fourth Mondays.
11 Have a tattered flag? Bigfork Foster Bjorge VFW Post 1764 will dispose of it properly and with dignity. Drop off flags at the Bigfork City Clerk’s office by this date.

12-18 Rolling Plains Art Gallery will bring a touring exhibit of Native American artwork to Bigfork School. Call Roberta Steinhart at 832-3884 for public hours.
13 Baby Steps at Marcell Family Center, 2:15 p.m.
13 Classic film returns to the commons area of the Bigfork Valley Villa. Moderated by Jack Nachbar, September’s film is “East of Eden” (1955) introducing James Dean. 6:30 p.m. Free and open to the public.
