Running through fall color
... continued

The Jingo Lake Road winds through the woods 4.5 miles to its end on Highway 6. Walkers will be shuttled to a start point line 3 miles from the finish. At the finish line, participants will again be shuttled back to Kocian’s.

Registrations have been coming in, said Race Director Stephanie Martin, from around the region and even Canada. Runners or walkers can register the day of the race, although a tee shirt is not guaranteed. Registration on race day is $13 for individuals, $35 for families.

The run is being organized with the cooperation of the U.S. Forest Service. A number of companies have donated door prizes, supplies or time to the event including Pepsi, Kocian’s, Two Rivers Cenex, Bigfork Ambulance Service Association, Frontier Sports, Edge of the Wilderness, McDonald’s and more. KMFY (96.9 FM) is scheduled to broadcast on location during the race.

For more information about the race, visit www.bigforkvalley.org and click on the Challenge Run tab or contact Stephanie Martin at (218) 246-8765.
