To celebrate the opening of these new facilities, Bigfork Valley will offer a Health Expo on Saturday, Sept. 30 from 1 – 4 p.m. The community is invited to tour the entire facility as well as browse health information booths supplied by the hospital, its vendors, and local health related and senior service organizations, Health screenings will also be offered by the University of Minnesota at Duluth pharmacy students, and Scenic River Health Services and hospital staff.
It is planned as a fun family event, said Ken Westman, chief operating officer. There will be drawings for a kayak and fitness-themed packages for those touring the campus. “There will be something of interest for all ages,” he said. “We hope to encourage everyone to learn ways to enjoy good health and quality of life.”
LifeFlight, the St. Mary’s emergency medical airlift helicopter which serves Bigfork Valley, will also be on display, calls and weather permitting.
The event will begin with a short program at 1 p.m. Then the campus will be open to the public. Refreshments will be served.
“We hope that everyone can come to celebrate this accomplishment with us,” said Dan Odegaard, chief executive officer. “This is a remarkable facility in Bigfork, and completion of this construction project moves us toward our vision of being a premier provider of healthcare and senior services.”
