Monthly Statements
Due to some recent questions and comments concerning our monthly statements, we thought a short article explaining our system might help to understand how our system works.
Each month as the Turtle™ readings are brought into our system with the usage for the previous month, the long distance telephone charges and the contract loans for appliances are also processed and added to the individual accounts. In a cost saving effort, the monthly statements are mailed out under a first class bulk permit. This means the statements are all sorted by zip code and strapped in trays with labels designating the destination of the tray. Therefore, the statements are printed by zip code. For quite some time these statements were folded and stuffed by hand, but in recent months the Co-op has leased a folding and stuffing machine in an effort to get the statements processed and mailed in a more timely manner.
