Sled dog race! The White Oak Classic
Saturday and Sunday, Jan. 21 and 22

There's an air of suppressed excitement before a big race of any kind: motors are revving, runners are stretching, horses are milling nervously.
It's there in a sled dog race, too. The teams are getting ready, watching their handlers, occasionally giving out an excited bark. Harnesses are laid out, sensitive paws are shod, sleds are lined up. Then the race marshal begins to count down toward the start and anticipation begins.

Frustrated with high fuel bills this winter?

Mark your calendar for January 31st. North Itasca Electrical Cooperative Inc. will be holding two Seminars for ALL customers interested in learning about our off-peak heating and cooling programs.
Times:
- First seminar will start at 10 a.m.
- Second seminar will start at 6 p.m.
Topics covered will be:
- Programs available.
- What is involved in getting off-peak at your home?
- Products NIECI offers for heating and cooling needs.
- Cost saving over using propane or oil and wood.
- Question and answers.
There will be coffee and refreshment along with displays and brochures of the products we supply here at North Itasca Electric Cooperative.

2006 Youth Tour to Washington, D.C.
It's not just an ordinary sightseeing tour.
And it's not a week filled with lectures.
On June 10-15, one junior or senior high school student from the membership of North Itasca Electric will be sponsored to attend the national cooperative Washington, D.C. Youth Tour in the nation's capitol. It will be a week for about 1,400 students from cooperatives around the country to gather to meet their legislators, experience leadership opportunities, see historical monuments, tour museums, enjoy theater, meet new people and have fun.

Riding Club Organizes
“We’re not out to win contests, we’re just out to have fun,” said Jill Letsch.
She was talking about a new riding club that has formed in Effie, the Northwoods Saddle Club. It’s a group of horse owners that want to learn more about their hobby and ways to have fun with their horses, and it is looking for members and ideas.
